Civilian Persona Manager
The purpose of this documentation is to guide you through the civilian persona manager that our engineering team has shipped on November 27th, 2021.

What's new?

With this new civilian persona manager, our team has been hard at work making sure that it is mobile responsive for any users-- this means that this new civilian persona manager works on both desktop/laptop and mobile/phone/tablets.
We've also reworked the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) of this persona manager with the goal of making this a more efficient system for our users. Users will also have the opportunity to submit feedback about the new civilian persona manager directly to the team when they are logged into the civilian persona manager.
Please keep in mind that this is still in open beta, so there may be some inconsistencies between this new system and the old system. Feel free to leave us feedback on the new civilian persona manager located on the left sidebar. Feel free to also send us feedback at [email protected].

Getting Started

All users will automatically have access to the new civilian persona manager when signing into their community's civilian department type. When the civilian department type is selected and the user proceeds into a patrol, they will be prompted through a popup asking if they'd like to use the new civilian persona manager.
This is a screenshot of what was described above. If you select "Yes" you will be brought to the new civilian persona manager and if you select "No," you will be brought to the old civilian persona manager.
Once you have agreed to beta test our new civilian persona manager, then you will be redirected to the new page.
This is a screenshot of what the new civilian persona manager looks like when you first launch onto the page.

Creating a new civilian persona

Prerequisite: In order to be able to create a new civilian persona you must be below your community persona limit. For example, if you are in a community with a limit of four (4) civilian personas, you cannot have four (4) personas already created. If this is the case, you must delete a persona before you can create another one or ask your community owner to upgrade plans.

To create a new civilian persona, simply select the "Create a new civilian persona" button. From there, you will be brought to a module where you can create a new civilian persona.
This screenshot shows the module you will be brought to create a new civilian persona after selecting the "Create a new civilian persona" button.
After you have entered all the required fields to create a new civilian persona, press the "Create Civilian Persona" button. You will then be redirected back to the Persona Selection module where you can select a persona to play as. We will go into more detail about that here.

Playing as one of your civilian personas

To play/select one of your existing civilian personas to use, you simply need to click the headshot + name of your persona as shown below.
After selecting the persona you would like to play as the page will display information about your civilian persona including, but not limited to the persona's: basic information, demographics, assets, and priors.
This screenshot is an example of what you will see when you select a persona to play as.

Editing your civilian persona

We have made the UI/UX of this new civilian persona manager as easy to navigate and use as possible. We have detailed everything there is to know about editing your persona below!
Editing civilian persona properties
You can recognize the editable properties of your civilian persona by identifying the input boxes with a white background. The input boxes that are greyed out are not editable. Below is a picture example.
This screenshot shows the properties of your civilian that are editable. The editable fields shown in this screenshot include the civilian's first name, last name, and driver's license status.
This screenshot shows the properties of your civilian that are not editable. The fields that are not editable include the Driver's License Number.

Editing your civilian persona's headshot

You can easily edit your civilian persona's headshot by simply clicking on the current picture of it at the top of the page. Below is a screenshot that demonstrates this.

Registering vehicles for your civilian

To register a new vehicle for your civilian, you will need to navigate down to the "Assets" module where you see all vehicles that your civilian owns. Once you find that section, simply select the "+" icon under the "Vehicles" module where another module will appear.
This screenshot shows the vehicle registeration module after clicking the "+" icon.
When registering a new vehicle, you're given the option to add a plate, color of your vehicle, make of the vehicle, model of the vehicle, any active flags on the vehicle, if it's insured and if it's registered with the DMV.

Registering a new firearm for your civilian

To register a newly purchased firearm for your civilian, you will need to navigate to the "Assets" module where you will see all the weapons you own. Once you find that section, simply select the "+" icon under the "Weapons" module where another module will appear.
This screenshot shows the weapon registeration module after clicking the "+" icon.

Viewing and Modifying all registered vehicles

You can view all registered vehicles under the "Assets" of your civilian. If you click the up carrot next to the "+" icon, it will expand a list of registered vehicles that you view and edit.

You can recognize the editable properties of the registered vehicle by identifying the input boxes with a white background. The input boxes that are greyed out are not editable. You can also modify the toggles that determine if your vehicle is insured and registered.
This is the same concept as editing civilian personas here.
Deleting a vehicle
If you delete a vehicle from your civilian, it will remove it from the DMV databases, so use this action with caution. You can delete a vehicle by selecting the "Delete Vehicle" button next to each registered vehicle. You will then be asked to confirm your action.

This is where you can find the 911 call center on a desktop/laptop
This is a screenshot on mobile of the three lines you need to select to expand the menu to find the 911 call center.
You can then type in a location for the dispatcher. The system will then send over the information of your civilian persona and the location you entered to the dispatch on the cad.

Deleting a civilian persona

This action should be used with caution. Once your civilian persona is deleted, all vehicles registered will be removed from our databases and your community freeing up plate numbers.
You can delete a civilian persona at the top of the civilian persona manager as displayed in the screenshot below. It will then ask you for confirmation before the deletion process is started. After it has been successfully deleted, you will receive an email confirmation.

Submitting feedback to the team

You can easily submit feedback to the Afterthought System Engineering Team using the module located on the left side of the screen, or by clicking the three lines at the top left on mobile (both displayed below)
